Today one of me hens laid her first egg. There was a tiny bit of blood one it and she seems sore not wanting to walk around. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Her egg looked like a normal first egg bullet with some darker speckles one it. She just seems sore like her first egg hurt. Can she be sore and worn out from her first egg laying experience. Any ideas???

Welcome to BYC! Sometimes, eggs have blood on them. That's somewhat normal. I wouldn't worry about it, and if you have further concerns, I would recommend posting your questions in the "Chicken Behaviors and Egglaying" section.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I too agree with BantanFan4Life that a little blood can be quite normal. Also as its her first egg too it would be more common. Small blood vessels can tear as the egg makes it way out. Congrats on your first egg from her :celebrate

Good luck in the future and I hope you enjoy BYC, I am sure you will everyone here to help and very friendly :frow
