Are Most Roosters Dumb...........

They are males...

Mone does this too, cracks me up every time! The hens are doing the velociraptor thing, and he's daintily picking up little bits and dropping them and making that funny squeaky sound. I like to give him tortillas, which he will sometimes hold in his beak so the girls can take them from him. Hilarious!

Maybe I'm just easily entertained, but it seems impossible to be bored when you've got chickens.

That sounds EXACTLY like mine! They love tortillas too. He picks off such tiny pieces that they ignore him until the big chunks are gone. I feel kinda bad for him, he tries sooo hard to impress the girls :) He's young though, not quite a year old yet so I hope he stays just as nice and just as entertaining. I couldn't imagine not having him in the flock. Roosters have so much personality.

My Italian Bantam rooster Lecelio is superfast and none can ever catch him.But he jumps into his coop when I keep it open and direct him there

Sounds like my Speedy. I have three Roos all the same age. My EE is the mature one who looks out for everyone and roosts right above the door and guards the coop. Speedy on the other hand is the one who runs in circles and can't seem to get in the coop door. Always the last one in and in a panic. Only thing going for Speedy is his looks!

My poor henry follows his 2 ladies around (he is about 6 months younger so understandable) but wont even try to be alpha male

He only mounts them when they say so and he sleeps on TOP of the baby coop while the ladies sleep IN the big chicken coop (we have 4 coops) Maybe is is just a male thing.... not smart enough to know what he is capable of
