Are my chickens feet dead? Are they going to fall off? Leg mites the cause?

Sandy,
What joy you must have experienced as you've seen your little hen make it through & learn to adapt.
She sounds like a sweetheart.

Thankyou Speckled hills! Yes my MIni is a sweetheart! She's an Original member of my very first flock, she loves people , being held, and petted and talked too. She's getting old for an laying hen but I hope that I will have her around for a long time yet. Thanks again !

Did we find out what the OP's vet said about her girl?

I have a bantam white leghorn that has the same exact problem and I put her on full feed with my chicks in a stock tank for she wasn't getting enough feed with my ducks, geese, pigeons, and chickens all fighting to get food and yes your chickens feet are going to fall off but she might be able to walk depending upon size to weight ratios.

aah what did the vet say, a update would be nice

they are defiantly dead and probably will fall off, but with that case so bad.... might not come through it.

I just had this happen and I too keep mine in a heated coop and keep.them indoors on cold days. Her legs became swollen and yellow. Both of her feet where black. Today one of her feet just clean fell off. No blood and isn't an open bleeding wound. I'm baffled. We are inner city and do not have any poultry vets around.
