The only things that my wife cooks for the chickens are boiled eggs and oat sprouts. Right now, the two and a half week old babies in the house are getting our surplus boiled eggs (mashed up really well) to supplement their starter crumbles, so the bigger chickens are not getting any eggs at the moment.
Today, my spoiled adult chooks got a quart of fresh buttermilk (a gift from the same dairy farmer), another bucket of fresh weeds, a few "less than perfect" strawberries from our strawberry patch, some lettuce leaves from a lettuce plant that my wife harvested for lunch (the bottom leaves tend to have alot of dirt on them, so we always give them to the chickens) and some left over whole wheat peanut butter sandwich that my daughter left on her plate at lunch time.
