I have a female Muscovy duck and a Ancona drake which recently passed away due to eating a wasp. When they would go into the water they would mate, but I never saw the ducks penis come out.. And she has 11 eggs and has gone broody, would those eggs be fertile ? She laid them a week after the drake died.

If he's succeeded in mating her, they're likely fertile.

When they breed in water the female gets pushed down so you probably couldn't see anything. Sometimes a few drakes join in and the hen ands up drowning.

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

X2 on drumstick diva. If you saw your ducks mating, then most likely, the eggs are fertile. I'm sorry about the drake--hopefully, the eggs hatch!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the hatch!

Hopefully that's why, and I'm hoping they do hatch too especially because I'd be her first babies, she's becoming extremely aggressive towards people and my other pets
