I have been incubating quail eggs for 9 days now, I've candled them and I've seen some kind of movement Inside the eggs and it seems like the eggs are fine however it's my first time hatching quail eggs and I'm not if it's actually the chick moving or it's because I'm slightly moving it temperature has changed sometimes its 3nevr been steady not sure if there soemthing inside or not can someone help me,

Hey there! Could you post photos of the eggs while they’re being candled? That would help those who are knowledgeable and experienced to help you!

The veins on those bottom eggs look good to me. Can't really make out what is going on in the first photos, are they the same eggs? As they grow the egg will go darker and the only movement you can really see is a flicker near the bottom. At 9 days you are over half way there as they can start pipping day 15 and hatching day 16 onwards (mine were day 16 hatches). Good luck keep us updated with chick photos when they arrive.

Those look fine to me. Do you have a calibrated thermometer/hydrometer in there? If you don't, you better get one ASAP. I use a small AvianWeb one. Have you bern turning them? What has the temp and humidity been? I think your eggs are fine. Are they coturnix?

Yes they are japanese ones I've been turning them at least 4 times a day at the begging I had trouble keeping tempertaure steady but so far it's been at 37.5 I checked the humidity and it's at 45 sometimes 50 , I'm I meant to see movment at this time

No they are not the same differnt I'll keep them in there and see what hatches hard to look through the eggs but I see some movement and a lot of veins hope they are alive

You should always turn them an odd number of times a day. So either 3 or 5. That is so the embryo doesn't lay on the same side for several nights in a row. Are they Japanese or Coturnix? Japanese are also called button quail

If there are veins they are alive. If they were dead the veins would fall apart and decompose
