Are the baby chicks suppose to sleep like this?

No, you can't leave the box like that. The chicks will roast. Imagine wrapping yourself in a blanket and having a heater blowing hot air at you from a small gap in the blanket. The hot air has nowhere to go. It'll basically be an oven.

Take the chicks into your bedroom with the space heater. Do not cover the box.

Here is the brooder size. I think I need a bigger one. I have a lot of boxes and should I get a box with more length/width then height? Right now they both are active dude to my space heater being 85 degrees and they didn't peep too loud anymore. Any suggestion? Should I move it into my bedroom or I have 2 empty bedrooms upstairs. Should I put them there?

So first thing tomorrow is get a heat lamp and get a new brooder box. Right now I'm turning the space heater off and place the 4 flaps of the box up and cover it with a blanket. Should I cover it with a blanket without the space heater or do that with the space heater.

I think that if those chicks aren't dead this morning, and you can't get them set up appropriately and safely with the right kind of heat, and with enough room, you need to find some one to give them to who will be able to meet their needs. Chicks are living animals, and should not be purchased until the buyer has thoroughly educated himself on the needs of the animal. There is more than enough information in the learning center, which will tell you all you need to know. I'm hoping the best for those chicks.

They did make it through the night but my Ameraucana is now two days old and today it keeps falling like it has no balance and the head is like going down and eyes looking like closing. What kind of heat lamp is in Walmart? Please! I can't order it anymore, I have to get your answered ASAP!

The sleeping standing up is perfectly normal, my chicks did it all the time, and so do most chicks. The lean forward a little and then slowly close their eyes and their beaks touch the ground.. It's pretty adorable.

Go to wilco or a local feed store they have tons of heat lamps and heat bulbs.

People have been telling you for 2 days where to find heat lamps. Do you have a pet store neat by? Any pet store will carry one

I'm not trying to be mean here but i keep hearing you ask the exact same questions over and over. People are giving you answers. Walk into a pet store...or any farm store...or feed store...and tell them you need a heat lamp for chicks. You mentioned a hatchery near your house that may carry them. You are also worried about what kind they sell at walmart. You should be out looking. Go to walmart and check, no one will know what they carry at your walmart. Go to the hatchery. And go to any store in your town that sells pet supplies. Pick up the phone and call these places and ask them. You will not get those answers here. Everyone has told you what you need and wher3 you might find it it is now up to you to call/go so that you can save your chicks. We are hoping for their best.

So anyone here how to make a perfect chick brooder? I mean I have a bigger box with good width/length and the height is still good. The heat lamps I bought today is a 250 watt bulb and the lamp itself has clamps on them so I can clamped them to something.

Well, the perfect brooder would have to be a rubber maid tub.. Inexpensive and easy to clean. I love to use pellets as bedding or pine shaving- NOT cedar wood shaving, not good for their respiratory system. Or you can use a cardboard box.. Definitely not the best; always gets wet, stinky, and rots. I would go with the Rubbermaid tub, or any old tub will do. Reply a picture of your brooder to see if it will work
