Are the chicks alive?

Well I bought an expensive high lumen LED penlight for candling... it doesn’t produce much heat, is a focused beam and makes seeing into eggs easy. I can tell an egg is developing at 2 days now as long as it’s not a brown or thick shelled egg.

I have an other question. I looked inside my incubator, and I found a cracked egg, a piece of shell fell off, but the inner lining of the egg looks fine. I would send pics, but I don't know how to access it from BYC. I really want to save this chick.

Thank you for your much needed help!

You can cover the cracked area with melted wax, but keep a close eye on this egg as frequently they go bad and can ruin the incubation.
