Are the eggs still good?

My experience with float testing has worked. I float tested once and two eggs which reeked floated to the top. I was so oblivious to the smell until I float tested, why? I don’t know I must have been in la-la land because once I smelled that wretched smell I knew those eggs were bad.

The only time I float test is when I find a large pile of eggs that I don’t know how long has been there (as in 30+ eggs). I check for age with float test, not if they’re bad, but I get picky about eating 3 week old eggs (call me crazy). Anyway, my hens don’t free range anymore enough to have a stash of eggs somewhere so I have not float tested in a long time!

I put all my eggs in the refrigerator the day I collect them and i make a note to eat them within 2 weeks so washing them doesn’t make a difference to me although if I wanted to store them for a long time I’d have to choose the clean ones that don’t require cleaning from poop or whatever.
