Are there both standard and bantam Silkies in the U.S.? I'm confused!

I have read and been told previously that all pure Silkies in the U.S. are bantams. I bought 2 white Silkies from a lady at the flea market about a week ago and she told me they were standard size.

The "standard" silkies that I got from the flea market are almost fully feathered already and about the same size as my Cochin bantams of about the same age.

So I am confused. Do standard size Silkies exist in the U.S.? Or was I misinformed? I love the 2 white ones I bought and will keep them no matter what, but I was just curious about this.

Silkies are Bantams, however that doesn't mean that someone could have crossed a silkie with a Large(Standard) Chicken to get the Silkie characteristics, such as feathering, top knot, etc..

Thanks. I think either the lady at the flea market was confused or I misunderstood her. These two Silkie babies are about the same size as my other bantams.

Perhaps the lady meant standard size as in 'normal' size?

I'm not well up on silkies either side he pond but I know the silkies is UK look rather different to the silkies in US. The 'normal' size of silkie in UK is called standard size & there is also a bantam which is tiny. Well I could be confused. A friend back home had these absolutely tinsy little black silkies; so small they would fit in ones hand.
