Are there guidelines for posting articles?

Just wondering if there is a written set of guidelines for posting articles? I searched and looked through the guides as well as the faqs, but did not find anything with regards to writing articles. How are articles monitored (regarding plagarism and/or the permissions for the use of photos?)
