Are there seasons for predator attacks?

This is the gate that the predator got opened This wire goes a couple of inches across behind the gate on the inside. I do have concrete under all of the gates. The next morning is when I found the gate had been tampered with and the wire was now on the outside of the gate. The gate actually opens outward so something had to put quite a bit of force to force the gate in beyond the wire to get the wire to go on the outside of the gate and luckily I had wired the gate shut the previous day when I noticed the loss of 2 birds. I had the game camera on and the only predator I saw that night was a fox. I didn't get a picture of it because it turned foggy but did see a coyote on camera the next night.

This isn't the picture I was looking for. I take videos so I may not have converted it to frames yet but this is another foggy night.

I agree. I'm trying to catch a coyote and a fox that not long ago killed some of my birds. I know they have to eat too, but not my birds...
This is a coyote last night.

I'm going to be hanging a game can today, the dogs are doing at good job at keeping them out of the yard for now. I just like knowing if they are try to get in the coop because the dogs was going crazy last night. Hope you get rid of your problem.

Even if the predators are out near the coops I usually hear the birds pitching a fit so I take a nice bright flashlight and shine it down at the coops and the predator leaves and the birds quiet down. I do have night lights on in all of my coops. Coyotes snooping around.

Yes they are, also with concrete pads under them. I'm sure the predator got zapped at some point. In the picture of the gate I posted in an earlier post, the wires that are on the right side of the gate were pulled down and the post that holds the insulators was bent over. I have since straighten it and reattached the wires. I almost got a coyote last night. Maybe tonight. I caught a rabbit in the smaller trap in the left side of the picture. It's in the large trap. I was going to put a bird in it until I caught the rabbit.

They seem to show up here most often in the winter, they are hungrier and it makes them bolder. On the other hand when they have pups or kits they will pick off birds that wande too far from the house. Best bet, keep birds locked up at night and clear as much brush and hiding places away from your coop/chicken yard as you possibly can. (A grey fox BTW)
