are there signs that our first egg may be soon?

my chcken has ust started laying one every other day at the moment and ust caught her the other day as she had laid her egg, but she didnt make any noise when she laid it.

Now I ust have to wait for my other 2 to start laying. I also have 2 ducklings about 3 weeks old so Im waiting to see if they are boys or girls, any ideas when ducks start laying.
