Are these black barnacles normal?

looks like bad case of Fowl Pox. I would separate those showing symptoms to their own area and cover their sides of the pen with sheets to help slow the spread. Apply Iodine to the scabs. Watch those that may develop into wet Pox, that is more severe and causes respiratory illness. If that happens start them on some tylan 50. Sometimes some childrens cold & flu med helps( i use Wal brand). Other than vaccination those not yet affected, treat and give supportive care until it runs it's course.

Thank you for your help. I will apply iodine tomorrow. I started Duramycin 800mg immediately today when i noticed the bumps. How soon should I start seeing results? If the duramycin doesn't work I will switch to tylan. How will I know if they go from dry pox to wet pox?

Meds only help the symptoms of Wet Pox, not the virus itself, but the respiratory symptoms that accompany it. Just keep a close eye on everyone and if you see them acting sickly, open mouth breathing, developing cankers in the mouth..- that's wet pox.

Ok. Thanks for the help. So basically it's like chicken pox to humans? Once they get it once, they will not get it again? So far so good on any respiratory issues. Otherwise, very healthy birds. Thanks again for the help.
