Hi! New chicken mom here, we picked up 4 pullets from tsc that were labeled as Easter eggers. Now that I’ve looked more things up it seems like most EE chicks look different than mine, I know they vary in colors etc but all of mine are whitish yellow with yellow legs. Could they still be EE or likely something else? I love them either way but I’m curious!

Hey guys! It’s been a while but wanted to update because today we got our first egg! And it’s GREEN, of all the colors I wasn’t expecting that lol
She’s 22 weeks today and has a huge floppy red comb, I was sure she was going to end up a leghorn with how she was looking, and then she gave me a green egg haha

I see, I'll stick with my guess.
The only other breed I *think* it could be would be a cornish cross. Which, is a meat breed.
Or White Rock, which is dual purpose. They've got yellow down, white feathers, single comb, yellow feet-- all the same things a White Leghorn or a Cornish Cross would have at that age.

They do look like the leghorn pictures, the only other thing is that 3 of them have dark spots on their back and heads that you can’t see in the pictures that have gotten darker over the week we’ve had them.
They could be California Whites. Those are basically a Leghorn-mix, white with some black spots, good layers of white eggs.

With the black spots though, I don’t think they’re either. I think they’re likely a Leghorn mix like Hoover’s California White or Ideal’s Ideal 236. Most likely the California Whites given TSC usually sources their chicks from Hoovers.
That is one I’m thinking they could be because of the spots! I’ve gotten a lot of suggestions for possible breeds. So far one has black spots on her actual wing feathers too and is much more fluffy than the others lol

Hmm interesting! I have had Easter Eggers with black spots too and a mix of single comb and pea comb but I bred them myself. But still. It is possible. So I guess you will have to wait and see what color they lay lol
We’re fine with whatever breed they end up being, they are very sweet and incredibly social lol it’ll be fun to see them all grown!
This is the “fuzzy” one, my son named her Godzilla 😅

Their coloring throws me off, some have quite a lot of black spots and their heads are growing in more of an off white color. It’s hard to see in those pictures but it makes it look like their heads are dirty, you can sort of see the difference here lolView attachment 3840321
I was noticing that too.

Looking back in the thread, I notice this post:
What hatchery did they come from? They could be sapphire splash or California whites.
Being Splash would be one explanation for the way they are colored, and they do look a bit like the photos on Hoovers website:

When they grow up the rest of the way, the body shape and egg color might also help sort this out. California Whites should lay white eggs, Sapphire Splashes should lay brown eggs, Easter Eggers should lay blue or green eggs.
