we just bought them from tsc the guy said they were mallards well he agread when i asked hahaha

I agree, they look like rouens, but that's not bad. They look like mallards, but are very large, so they don't fly. You get the best of both worlds, a pretty mallard-like duck, but you don't have to worry about wing clipping.

we wanted mallard so we could build there house up of the ground an they could fly up 2 it at night our pond is about 150yards from our house an dont want foxes or coyotes to eat them at night.
 
I'm sure a lot of folks here on BYC can give you ideas on how to secure your ducks and coop from predators. It doesn't necessarily mean that they will get eaten. We have rouens at the lake near me that survive for years even though there are all kinds of predators. And, they don't have a coop or house at all.
 
thanks we were going to get like a big doghouse we have an put it like 6ft up on blocks would they be able to get up there if we made a platform for them to land on?
