Did you find evidence mites in their feathers, like the crud they leave at the base of the feather where it meets the skin?

You can spray permethrin on birds though as long as you keep it away from their faces but from your earlier posts it didn't sound like the mites were going for them; no point in spraying where the mites don't go. I'm not sure if the concentration needs to be different for use on birds vs. on surfaces. There are also permethrin powders they make that you can use directly on birds which avoids getting the feathers wet and can more easily mix in closer to the skin where mites and lice go.
