Sorry, Standard of Perfection. There are books with pictures, that I find helpful. They also change (the books) as new breeds are accepted.Chickens breeds are confusing! I have a lot to learn

We all have new things to learn when it comes to keeping fowl. Here, on BYC there are people who are knowledgable about lots of different things, so you can usually find someone who is knowledgeable about what ever information you are looking for. It's incredible how much some people know about chicken genes and how they are passed on.Chickens breeds are confusing! I have a lot to learn

Thanks for your hospitality. I've been on BYC for a bit, just not very active unless I needed info on something. Everyone has always been kind and willing to help and very generous with their words of wisdom! Our flock has increased this year so we are trying to absorb as much info as possible! We all have new things to learn when it comes to keeping fowl. We also tend to have lots of fun and silly games and conversations, I haven't seen you around. Please join in a thread or start one, if time permits.![]()

I agree. One of them def looks like it could beCould be some type of sapphire gem.
Chicken breeds literally confuse me! I wish it was more like dog breedsI have the same thing. Ideal Poultry sells them as Blue Cuckoo Marans. The males have barring and the females don't (which don't make them cuckoo, but ok) So I just tell people mine are Blue Marans.
