My brother gave me these three little ladies and said they are real Dominiques. They are very had to find. They do look different from the Barred Rocks I have had and seen.

They have only been with the other girls for about a week so they have some war wounds on their heads.

Are those legs yellow or white? Doms have yellow legs. The combs are rose combs, so in that respect, yes, they appear to be Doms, but the leg color bothers me. Cuckoo Marans have white legs and single combs. Doms have yellow legs and rose combs.
Check out this Dom/BR comparison with pics:

I will have to look at them again. I think they have light yellow legs. I have a White rock/ Barred rock mix that has very yellow legs. My RIR have lighter yellow legs. I think these birds legs are alittle lighter than the RIR. I will confirm that and get back ASAP.

They have very light yellow legs. I have 2 buff orp they have very white legs......They are a little darker then them.

I think they are about 7 months old. They lay about every other day as best I can tell. It looks like they have started to loss some color, but not as much as my RIR who are about 9 months old.

Yes they are Doms. The lighter leg color can be from laying eggs. I'm not real crazy about their combs and the lines on the feathers could be more distinct, but they are Doms.

Thank you for your help clearing that up. They are really funny.
My brother was very hands off with his birds. I am very hands on...They are in for a big shock...No they are warming up to their new home just fine. It is really nice to know what you have.

Thank you all again....

Happy New year to all.

Yeah, the combs look like "mutt" to me...not a true rose conformation. My Doms have a very sharply defined rose comb. And the body shape and tail are a little "off" for Doms as well. I'd say mixed breed?
