Are these roost ok?

They simply don't like change... change in bars, change in height of bars, etc.

If you want to stick with the roosts you installed, you can always just sand down the edges to make them smoother on their feet.
Ok I'll try sanding them down tomorrow. I figured they wouldnt like the change but theres just no way theyll continue to fit as they grow in the old spot. Hopefully theyll adjust quickly.

....they don't need round but sharp edges and splinters should be removed.
 
Well, I thought they were sleeping on the roost. Nope. 🤦‍♀️

Actually, it may be even with it. I cant go much higher with the roost or else they will be even with the openings I have for ventilation.

Hmm, wondering what you could put up there to deter them. Or is there possibly a way to seal it off? Doesn't have to be fancy... I'd probably be making curtains with duct tape and feed bags or something.
