Are they ALL that crazy.???

Although my little flock eats pretty much everything I put in there for them, it AMAZES me how INSANE they are about sweet potatoes!
I mean, INSANE! Completely CRAZY! They seriously FREAK OUT when I put in a sweet potato and attack my hands!!!
I just wanted to see if anyone else's birds are THAT insane about it, or if mine are just odd!

I think it's normal. My favorite treat for my 7 week old chicks is boiled egg, which I fed to them since week 1. Whenever I throw a whole egg in the dog kennel they'll grab a piece in their beak, dance in circles and make clicking noises. It's almost like they don't know what to do with it!

Yea o man mine go nuts for strawberry tops and anything that I put out there!!

Oh no, they won't touch them raw.
I steam them first, and slice, place the slices on a large plate, and they go NUTZ!

I wish I could get up the courage to give them anything but their bagged/store bought food or a little corn scratch. I have never fed my animals (dogs) any "people" food and am having a problem doing it for the chicks.

Mine don't really like potatoes!! (They're more of the cat food & corn tortilla kind af chickens! I just grab a few tortilla's and a handful of cat food and we have some happy birds!)

The chickens know I bring all their treats in plastic bags or baggies...you know, variety of leftovers, egg I cracked so I scrambled it, popcorn..whatever.

I can't go anywhere outside with the bag, they will pull it out of my hands, it's hysterical. They just go wild at the sight of a bag. Quite a pain if you are say, carrying seeds to the garden on the rear of the property.
