This is my first hatch and I have just watched the chicks that have already hatched continue to break the shell off around the "pip" on the unhatched eggs. It creates a large piece of visible membrane which appears to be drying out quickly. The first half of the hatch went really quickly. The humidity increased each time a chick hatched but now I see there is no water at all in the troughs. I think I may have a humidty problem even though I am looking at 71%. Ugh...

I am not an expert and assume more qualified folks will respond.
I was told to add water through the vent hole using a straw or piece of fish tank tubing.
Is working well for me.
good luck

You don't have a humidity problem...and I would say that if they are pecking at the eggs leave them be...if they were under a Mama hen's belly you'd never be able to see what was going on....so who knows. Try to walk away and restrain yourself:caf I KNOW it's hard to do! But it'll be worth it:jumpy
