Are they noisy when they're ready to lay?

I have a Black Sex Link, Omlet, that was noisy for at least a week before she laid her first egg. Now she seems to know somehow when the others are ready to lay their first egg. Omlet was real noisy yesterday, standing on the walkway in front of the nest boxes Bawking loudly for about 15 minutes. About 10 min. after that our Red Leghorn laid her first egg without a peep.

I have one golden comet that is noisy from daylight till dark, bawking constantly.and not just a common bawk, this lady almost screams, just like she has a bone to pick with something or someone.I know she is not in any kind of pain, she just likes to be noisy

The day I brought my Delawares home one of them started to bagaaaak a whole lot and while I was watching she turned around and laid an egg right there in front of me on the ground. I had never even seen a live chicken before that and it was quite an experience to watch her push an egg out.

Now, every morning, I know when they are laying an egg because I hear the egg song coming from the yard.

yep, no wonder she bawked all day, she knew what was coming! lol. She bawked for about 2 hours afterwards too...then settled right back in quietly with the flock. In my Avatar she's the one on the right....Louise. I'm so proud of her
