I have 5 chicks that are 4 weeks old today. They are heaalthy & beautiful, but ready to be out of the brooder. (I think).

They have most of their feathers. Only the necks look prickly. Our nights are only around 35 degrees, so I'm worried. But since I'm in SC they should really be warming up soon.

I have full grown chickens outside who are fine with the temp, I do not have the option of hanging my heat lamp outside, I do not have an enclosed coop.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a bit too early. I'm guessing that you want them out of the house! Do you have an option for putting them in a garage, or your basement with the heat lamp? At 4 weeks, the rule of thumb would be 70 degrees. Have they been weaned down to that temp yet? I tend to be conservative, perhaps there's some one reading who has had luck putting 4 weeks out in that temp. But, I wouldn't risk it. Good luck with the weaning!
