Are Turkey's nice?

Our turkey hen fough with our RIR roo. She would go after his comb. Poor fella.

But she was nicer to ppl than the tom.

My uncle has a guard turkey. If someone drives into his yard (which he lives in the middle of nowhere) the turkey will not let anyone get out of their vehicle unless my uncle comes out.
Also if his grandkids get too far out the turkey will round them up and start gobble gobbling if they don't get closer to the house. Great baby sitter!
Oh and that turkey is 40+ lbs and can still chase you down if you don't listen to him

He lives with a huge chicken flock and has no problems except he has stepped on a few chicks and squished them.

This reminds me of a clip I've seen on TV a few times where a cop has a car stopped and a turkey appears outta nowhere and starts attacking the cop and his cruiser.
The man that lived behind us when I was a kid had lots of turkeys (this was Miami, FL in the early 70s). None of his were nice and we knew to stay clear of them. There was the one time my sister stole some turkey eggs from him and tried to hatch them on her "Easy Curl" but that's a whole 'nother story.

I have a Bourban Red Tom & hen. They get along nicely with almost everyone. Sometimes the Tom will fight with my Peacock, but mostly they just follow each other taking turns struting in front of each other, puffing up or spinning around in circles after each other.I have a horse round pen and the peacock will go on the inside and the turkey on the outside and follow each other round and round for hours!( Peacock use to pick on him when he was little so I think it's payback time!) He will also boss the roosters around, but nothing major. My Tom"Tonto"husband named him:rolleyes:will even preen my hens if they let him, especially the RIR. Must like the color. He never has payed any real attention to my nephews or anyone else unless they have food. hey seem rather lazy, laying out in the sun amits all the other birds.
