Are we becoming a police state?

Being careful of what you say online is just plain common sense. Especially with the powerful search engines at the disposal of the alphabet agencies.

I am a moderator on a website dedicated to silencers and other NFA firearms. We get low post count members on there regularly asking real stupid, not to mention borderline illegal, questions all the time. Some are just people not thinking but others might be ATF fishing expeditions.

I was pretty serious on my post. It's paranoid but better that than having someone show up on your doorstep and taking you in for questioning because of something you said on the internet. Even if you are completely guilt free it doesn't always matter.

The internet and cell phone snooping is very advanced. I truly believe that's one of the biggest reasons we haven't been attacked again. They get a lot of electronic info and stop things before they happen. It's hard to say if it's worth the price or not. I bet the relatives of the people that died on 911 would have liked to have seen that plot foiled.

I believe a lot of police type agencies are using their additional powers for a lot more than terrorism prevention. Yep Baker. I bet that forum you are talking about is actually monitored vs just catching random key words with a computer program.
