I'm curious as to if both of my BRs are roosters. One has the neck hackle feathers, the other does not. They are both the same age, came from the same local breeder. They are about 10-12 weeks old now, with no sign of crowing yet. (none of my other baby cockerels are crowing yet, they are EE). Also, Delilah is ALOT smaller than Samson. Samson's legs are as thick as my thumb!!! Here are some pictures:

I believe that they are both roosters (or cockerels at this age).

eta: They do not look like purebred barred rocks to me.

I am no expert, but just comparing them to my BR females I would say you def have 2 males. I have read the lighter ones are boys and the darker are girls. sorry [IMG]

Thanks All!!! I just wanted to know if they were both roos, as I'm going to be selling one of them. I don't mind if they are both roosters!! I've gotta pullet BR right now. And yes, I agree, they don't seem like they are pure BRs, thinking Sexlink....

    Yes, both boys.

The give away are the longer tail feathers at the top curving over the bottom feathers. They are starting to form the curve of the tail.

    Handsome boys though.
