Yup! That’s how I came up with the term . My Polish, Sylvia, loves to chicken-waul just for fun, and boy can she exercise those lungs! I will sometimes record her on video and post it to Instagram and talk about how she’s training to be an opera star. I mean, how can so much noise come out of something so tiny? All feathers, egg laying space, and lungs. That’s my Sylvia .

Oh yes, for at least a month now. They cackle more lately when they do,

Mine were about two weeks once they started squatting. They had a liiiitle bit more comb and maybe a tad bit more red (the BRs), but the Australorp looked the same as yours. So exciting - the first little egg is the best!

Siobhan has added to her squatting routine, she stomps her feet now at the same time. The BRs, EEs, and especially the Australorps are very vocal now particularly in the morning and when they go to roost. The Australorps have chosen a nest box and go in and out frequently and have become less cuddly and a bit bitchy.
