Just for you to compare...

I weighed a 14-day-old cornish cross and a 14-day-old EE tonight. The cornish weighed 11.5 ounces. The EE weighed 3.5 ounces. The egg-layer breed babies are more feathered than the cornish crosses, and they're much more able to fly. The cornish crosses look HUGE compared to the others, and are already much less agile. Their bellies have grown so quickly that the down doesn't cover them, and it doesn't cover around their vents anymore either. They are completely different than the egg-layer babies.

So I'm thinking you probably have something like white rocks. They grow big pretty quickly compared to other breeds.

Here's pictures from 1 week old and 2 weeks old, comparing my meaties with my egg-layers. They're like a whole new species.

2 weeks with a welsummer:

My white ones, now officially 2 weeks old, are doing a little bit of play flying in the brooder. So at 2 weeks old your meaties don't do any running or jumping or trying to fly?

They are running - they are surprisingly quick when I reach in to grab one. They jump up onto the bricks in their brooder when I take the feeders out. But when I reach in to their box, they just run away. The egg babies are starting to fly to the top of their Rubbermaid tub brooder, and they all try to fly away from my hand when I reach in. It's just completely different.

I don't think they are meaties, of course I could be wrong. LOL They don't look like they have the short fat little legs.

If you could post another pic in about a week that would probably be helpful.

Here is a pic of my Leghorn babies, maybe it will help...

Hope this helps!

Hen...i'd like to see pics of the standing up at their own level, so as to see the size of the legs to body.

i am up in the air at my deduction, but with some more pics, i think we can get this nailed.
