are we cuckoo maran?

so I bought 2 chicks today and the seller said he believed they were cuckoo maran but wasnt sure PLEASE tell me they are I have been on the hunt for them since I started chickens again 5 months ago but im sure I couldn't be that lucky LOL

By the way, even the singular form of Marans has an "S" on it. So, one chicken is still a Marans, not Maran. Just some extra info.

OH that is great SO if they are barred or cuckoo are they still gonna be a chocolate egger?????
thats great to know I was going by the seller and the mcmurray magazine they have it labeled as maran lol guess they aren't always rite

I just bought 11 cuckoo marans chicks last Friday and your two look just like them!! I hope that's what you got!!

Not sure about the chicks, but I can tell you that my Silver Cuckoo Marans hen lays a nice medium brown colored egg, but nothing like the eggs my French Black Copper Marans hen lays. You need to find a BCM breeder and get some eggs or chicks from them. You will LOVE the dark eggs. I have a Blue Marans and Splash Marans, and neither of them are as dark as the BCM's eggs.

I know I WANT those eggs lol and I love the marans they are beautiful I have tried to find a breeder there really is none were I live except online

There is a post on here about cuckoo and white Marans, you may try asking there. For some reason (don't really know why) but I don't think they are.
