Are We Under Terrorist Attack?? Gas $6.79 near me!!!

Unfortunately a lot of western Canada's oil I believe is American Interest.... Which would mean that the US pumps the oil, and we buy back from them or something stupid like that.

We pay A LOT for gas, and if Dion becomes PM we'll be paying even more, the same with heating fuel (which most of rural ontario runs their furnaces on... and there is A LOT of rural ontario aha), A Carbon tax will be introduced, along with numerous more taxes, plus our GST going up. Also, our energy rates are going up in my area, something like 1.9% more in October.

I still don't understand paying that extra money for a flex-fuel car, having an ethanol plant 15 minutes away, and yet there are no ethanol gas stations here... I have never even seen an ethanol gas station!

That's sad and if it's true, as an American, I'm ashamed. I support the oil companies
as free enterprise but I think the oil and mining companies all get too good of a deal,
whether in the US or CA, because of secret money trasnsfers.

Flexfuel is a joke anyways. You should be able to fill up on petrol because CA owns
a lot fo it and you are a citizen of Canada. Why do multinational oil companies get
a better deal than true citizens? Maybe CA isn't the socialist country many of us
Americans think it is.

THIS IS MY OPINION. IF ANYONE WISHES TO DISCUSS OR DISPUTE IT PLEASE DO SO
IN A NON-CONFRONTATIONAL MANER. THIS HAS BEEN A GOOD THREAD.

We didn't buy the truck for the Flexfuel capability, it just came with it... but if there are no ethanol stations then where is the point in the flexfuel at all? Gas is more expensive out west even than here in Ontario.

Here in New Zealand we pay $1.95 per litre at the moment.

1 US gallon equals 3.785 NZ Litres.

I only go out once or maybe 2x a week :O But then, I am a rural stay at home mum of 3 kids ....

Sorry to hear that cheeky... $3.57 /gallon here in Washington, PA....

oh yeah, and ....

Here in Middle Tennessee we are experiencing what they are saying is a shortage. There are gas stations with NO GAS! In our closest town Erin there is one or two that may or may not have gas. In Nashville they are waiting in lines. In Springfield there is No Gas. In Clarksville where the base is and Hopkinsville where the base is, there seems to be gas. Fort Campbell is a large base. So really not sure what the heck is going on here but it does make one wonder WHAT NEXT?

I can not spell if you can tell that is why all the edits sorry.

Cyn, when you first started the thread, the gas here was $4.44. Had been for weeks. Thursday, it dropped twice in one day, down to $4.39, then $4.35. Saves a whole dollar on a full tank of gas, but we'll take it!

What i did was email all of my politicians in office and complain that are voted in from my state. If they hear us maybe some more will be done. Everyone should speak up! It is just to crazy.

I saw a report on PBS that said "estimators" are why our gas is so high. It is "estimated" from like a year ago of what they "think" the price will be. If you watch prices of oil per barrel the prices are going down but gas prices are not! Go figure! Thanks estimators!
My husband works offshore so I always watch the oil per barrel price on the market. When Katrina and Rita hit it was like $200 dollars or a little more per barrel. Now it is like $ 102 dollars per barrel. My daughter was born in 2006 (post Katrina and Rita) I wrote in her baby book that gas was $2.89 a gallon. Now isn't funny that gas prices are not going down but up?
Email everyone in our government that we won't tolerate it!
