Are Wyandottes good egg layers?

I too would appreciate any information about Wyandottes. I don't know much about their egg production since my only Wyandotte is a roo.

According to my MY PET CHICKEN they are supposed to lay four large brown eggs a week, and supposed to be a good winter layer.

My girls lay about 5 eggs a week - so i say they're good! I currently have 3, 1-2 year old hens. We had a very cold winter this year, for Georgia anyways, and they kept on laying. They are however, slow to mature. I had one that didn't lay until she was 10 months old. I highly recommend them.

We have 2 SLW aka the foxy twins, and we too get about 4 or 5 nice sized brown eggs. They're good birds, we've had them since they were 1 day old... they just never really warmed up to us like some of our other breeds. I would still buy them again though.

I have 3 GLW's. They started laying at 24, 28 and 30 weeks. They are a little slower to mature. They lay 4-5 eggs per week each and did well during the winter. They slowed down a tad when the temps were really low (below 0) but this was also their first winter. They were hatched 11 months ago. I did not heat their coop and did not supply extra light except for 1/2 to one hour mid Dec.-mid Jan for less than four week. Did not want to push the girls. First time with chickens, not even a year yet. My EE was 9 1/2 months old when she started laying, I also have a BR that started at 24 weeks but she was an August hatch....

I have one GLW. As the others said 4-5 eggs per week the first couple years of laying. Slowed down to about 3 eggs the 3rd year. Now starting year 4 she's at about 2 per week.

I should add mine never warmed up to me either. They aren't skiddish or anything just independent. They will eat out of my
hand, but only really care about me if I have food. I still love them though. They're beautiful! I will never be without one again.
