Ruby, I agree 100%. Southern foods are the BEST! In fact, we just had Lowcountry Boil, a Southern dish if ever there was one. Shrimp, shellfish, a little lobster tail, corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, and sausage all tossed together and boiled.

From the mountains to the watery Lowcountry, the South is just awesome.

The longest I've been in Yankee territory was about 1 day in the impressive but mildly horrifying land of DC.

Sounds like a good old fashion YANKEE clambake, minus the seaweed, to me. Got to have the seaweed. Keeps everything seperate during cooking. Throw a few clams in while you are at it.

I personally find it rather gross. A meal based on sea cockaroaches and poo filters..........
