Are you adding to your flock this spring?

I have already started growing out a batch of pullets. I "gave" my mom an EE pullet and my sister a SLW for Christmas so my flock has 2 newbies. I'll probably keep a BR as well to up my lagging egg production as my flock is getting up there in years. The rest will be sold at POL.

What a Dream (!) to give pullets as Christmas gifts! #farmfamgoals

I’ve just placed an order for 30 chicks, beginning of May. Super excited. Trying out a bunch of different breeds we’ve never had before, and we will be hatching our own Polish and silkies also. Anyone else have chicken math excitement going on?
Im going to be a first-time chicken owner in the spring!

Yep I want to get up to 20 hens. I have 15 now with 1 rooster. I’m hoping to offset things like broody girls and molting. Since I do have the 1 rooster I’m going to see if all this can happen naturally. With a couple BOs and 5 BAs, a broody hen should not be a problem. Any extra Roos grow up and go to freezer camp.

Actually hoping hatchling Bleu is a roo for Blue Crevecoeur mama Marge to mate. Developing buyers locally, and have two already. Then it's the feed store for any I can't sell--they have folks who'll take them as freebies to add to their flocks.
