I would never keep one as a pet, but years of living in the south and gardening has desensitized me to them a little bit. I’m not gonna freak out when I see one.
Spiders are beneficial insects for the most part.
I leave them alone and hopefully they dont walk or land on me or by instinct I might just squish first, and ask questions later..
They're not allowed to live in the house, unless they're little and they have a web. Outside, I'll screech when I see anything bigger than a quarter, which is 90% of texas spooders.
I do love Orb Weavers though, they're always welcome in my carport and bunny barn. I even name them and count the days until they lay new egg sacs.
They're like the INFPs of the spider world, just wholesome little creatures who keep to themselves and bless the world with their presence
