My smallest hen lays the largest eggs of the entire flock, sometimes larger that I can fit into the allotted slot in a carton. She's a leghorn and the only one I have that lays white eggs.
This is what I found in the nests today.

I don't know why or which hens are doing it, but the smaller eggs are very tiny-about 1 1/4"- and other eggs of this size have had no yolks. Egg white omelets anyone?

The little egg is called a fart egg or a wind egg. Happens. Just a glitch at the egg factory.

I got a tiny little RIR that lays extra large eggs and does it in record time. She might be in the 15 mins,as soon as the egg drops, out the door she goes.
