Really? They're horrible here in July and then get progressively better from late August on. Right now, they aren't bad, but definitely still biting if my knees are any indication.

Huh, I’ve never noticed that, however, we get tons of spiders in the fall. Laying eggs I guess? I have to carry a stick around when I let the chickens out to avoid walking through the webs (And these are big spiders, you don’t want them to get on you).

Maybe the spiders are the reason we don’t get as many mosquitoes in fall.

Yeah, we definitely get a ton of spiders in the fall here, too, those big orb weavers and the smaller ones that are all spiny. There's an orb weaver out there right now that keeps making her web on my main coop so that one edge is attached to the human door and the rest of the web is next to the door, and if I'm not paying attention I open the door to go in and get a face full of spider web. I don't mind spiders in general, but I am not okay with them or their webs on my face!

It was 95F here yesterday. It was miserable. Looking forward to fall here. I don’t appreciate all the extra spiders on the hiking trails though.
