Are you losing touch with the outside world too?

Hi all,
I have come to realise that my online experience as enjoyable as it is has taken over my life.
I have been stagnant in my home and career life, I have been spending nights online in here in my office and as I looked out of the room I saw my son sitting on the lounge and it hit me like a bolt. What am I doing? why arent i sitting next to him reading a book with him or just talking to him? What happened to my house, why is it so messy, why is my chook pen dirty?why does my Dh look so lonely?
Why does my cat ignore me now!!
Is internet posting just as addictive as online gaming?
I think so.
What did I do with my life before I got a computer.
Think about it.
I love you guys dont get me wrong, but I am going to try and find a balance in which I can spend quality time with my loved ones and restore order to my household.
I will still come here once a week if I can hold out, to help offer some knowledge etc. Ive made such wonderful friends.

I hear you on that one. I have to peel myself away from this computer and byc. I need to work on just "peeking" in every once in a while not EVERY hour.

You are so right bantymum............I wish you the best.....I am alone......and that makes it easier......but I too have tried cutting back lately...........to get off my butt

I very seldom post when I am at home or on weekends. There are just to many other things to do, I will try to check out BYC before work or during lunch during the week.

Awww, Helen....I too know what you mean. My children are all grown...so no worry there...but my "babies"(feathered ones) seem to be getting the short end of the stick. I get on here in the AM...before DH gets up...and sometimes in the evenings, while he is at work. Summer is coming soon here, and I am sure I will not be on here as much.
Go grab the kitty....kiss the DH...and sit with your son, maybe watch a family movie together. Then, after the movie...tell them to get off thier butts and help ya clean that house! LOL

My kids are grown and gone. Normally I read and post when having coffee in the morning. I also have my computer on and am reading and posting while watching TV in the evening. Guess I'm more "listening" to the TV than actually watching. Except when "Lost" is on.

I watch my Grandson 1 or 2 days a week and they don't even have TV. LOL. Friday when I was there I had a styrafoam(sp) sword fight with my 2 year old Grandson. He's a hoot.

I'm only on the computer while at work, and for me, "losing touch with the outside world" means that I can ignore my boring job for a little bit, which is a GOOD thing!!!

The "outside world" is no big bargain anyway, most of the time. Except if you have loving family that you might be neglecting...

I hear ya. Mine is a bit easier though as my bf is at work til 8 and I work where i can get on the net and i have ALOT of down time!
Go clean out that coop and THEN come back and tell us about it!
