I wish we could get some real facts from the authorities. This sort of thing freaks me out. I have 2 dead birds right now, I think they had CRD. I also have over 100 birds. All my birds including the ones that died are being treated with antibiotics. I bet if someone wanted to, they could use that against me to make some sort of case. I hope thats not whats happening with this rabbit breeder, but it seems like it might be.

Um..she had dead rabbits in filthy cages in a hot shed with not enough water....(from what i gathered from the article)
One comment on there said something about there being only a "few" dead rabbits, and thats not uncommon....etc... Really??

Yeah... i find that very disturbing..

Maybe she IS a good breeder though, I honestly dont know. But how come your animals didnt have enough water and were in filthy cages? How come you had dead rabbits in cages if you're breeding set up is appropriate for the weather conditions.... Something just doesnt sound right to me..
Nah... sounds like a "rabbit mill" to me....
Just my opinion.

There is some conflicting things here, she had them on a watering system, or they had auto waterers (both things were mentioned in the comments). It was also mentioned that their was only one dead rabbit, and it was already a sick rabbit that belonged to a 4her that had it there being 'doctored', and the other dead rabbits were removed from the freezer (being sent to a wildlife place to feed other animals), but now we're hearing the dead ones were babies. So I honestly don't know.

What I do know is that 84 degrees does not sound that hot, it's hotter then that in my house, some of the comments also said the doors were left open for several hours before the temp was taken, implying it was actually much cooler before that. With that many rabbits it seems like the auto waters seem to make more sense, but I've never had to keep that many rabbits watered before either, so I don't know.

The conflicting info bothers me, makes it hard to know what to believe even when someone says they know this person.

That is what is being debated. Very odd that they didn't film the conditions. I work in a ('pure research'/medical research/university) lab, and we've personally had an AR group go in and post blatantly incorrect and edited video from a hidden pen camera that was then picked up by the media. They even took a clip of workers talking about adopting out some of our animals (we have our own retired research animal adoption program), and they edited to make it sound like they were talking about killing the animals. They also used one of our adopted animals on a poster that implied we'd be driving around in unmarked white vans and stealing pets to do research on them.

So, I can say that I personally am skeptical when I hear evidence sounds like it is being tampered with and when it sounds like improper documentation is occurring. The lack of details is astounding in this case.

Don't you love how every website has different story to tell? Now they are all sick, Really??? I hope she gets everyone of them back! That poor women

Wow, this is very close to where a few of us live. If it was 84 in the shed then it had to be ventilated. Today was the 18th day of near 100* temps. This isthe same folks that I had to go to court for at the beginning of July because I had more than 2 hens that a "city worker" noticed when he was out walking his dog. (lived right down the street) neighbors didn't even know I had chickens until I asked if they wanted eggs. Anyways the fine was $300. I didn't read the comments but I will. We're watching 9 news right now. Well sounds like there may be good cause for them to seize her rabbits. Maybe she was a good person who may have started having personal issues and things started to go awry. Who knows...but unfortunately the bunnies suffered whatever the reason

Yeah, lots of conflicting info... it will be interesting to see the outcome of this.

So after being packed into cardboard boxes and moved on a metal trailer on a super hot day, being shaved, fed an unfamiliar feed, and being forced to live in dog carriers, the rabbits are sick.

No freaking duh.

there was automatic waterers lines to the cages

So which is it?

Yep,... thats what i mean. I just cant see them taking those rabbits for NO reason... Theres more to the story.
But again... i wasnt there and didnt SEE.. so i dont really know.

Ok. An automatic watering sytem is not perfect. Ms Bell has a set time every day to inspect. There was a storm the night before. A set schedule to water and inspect is not uncommon even with an auto waterer, especially if there was a storm that day or the night before. Y'all can question me to death if that is what ya wanna do, but the woman is a responsible breeder. They did not film the conditions. They did not take pictures. This one is a witch hunt. Ms. Bell has a stellar reputation amongst rabbit breeders and there are ALOT of us behind her on this one. She is responsible, her areas are clean, the animals are fed and well cared for.

Edited because I am an idiot.
