are you prepped for a recession/depression?

I plan on trying to self sufficient for reasons other than the economy. My daughter is affected by the foods on the grocery store shelves and my health went down hill after I left the farm and started using the grocery store. I would like to go solar, geothermal and wind powered to supply part of my energy needs.
Oh ya I almost forgot. If we move back to an Amish comunity I will be able to ride my horse into town instead of driving. So that will cut back on gas and put my pleasure to use.

self sufficiency is important to my family. Although its not the economy so much that concerns me, but more related to natural disasters, or acts of war. We have a small plot of land (only 1/2 acre) but have a generous garden, and make sure we use all of our produce (canning and freezing) and use wood heat only for heat. relying less and less on large electric and gas companies. I feel if there were a collapse all we would need to add to our home would be two female and one male goats and we would be set, could make do with what we have. its very reassuring. I wish we had the funds to support a larger property and would love to participate in the farming community, but I have taken a lot of pride in the fact we have cut our electricity usage in half this year, and our gas bill is 0$

LOL, you're kiddin right? well maybe not since the media likes to pretend he isnt running for office.

to
make it short...
Ron Paul is a congressman from TX, he's a retired OB/GYN
"Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution."

he wants to get rid of the IRS as well as most big gov't departments, wants our military to be here at home protecting our borders and not getting in the middle of civil wars in other countries ..basically if it's not in the constitution, it needs to go.

heres where he stands on the issues

one thing you will notice, he sticks to his guns...he doesnt sway and change he stance on things and he's the only one I would even consider voting for
