Are you supposed to tip the person who loads your feed?

ONCE...I received a "tip" when I was working at a FULL-SERVICE Gas Station.

I almost fainted from surprise!

That was back in the days when we washed your windshield, headlights, and mirrors. We checked your oil and your power-steering fluid....sometimes the battery fluid as well. If requested, we would check your tire pressure and bring that air up to your desired pressure.
Always for FREE.

I can't even find a gas station NOW that has "FREE Air". (filled by ME with MY tire-gauge)

Nope. I don't tip the boys who load my chicken feed.

The one a few blocks from my house does!!!!! I've plugged 2 tires in their parking lot so I could use their air compressor. It's just a regular air compressor like you'd have in your shop, in a building locked up with the hose strung out for everyone to use. They also have free water too! They do charge for ice though....lol
It's a small store, not a national chain, and the owner is in there occasionally. They're super convenient, always open, have friendly workers and the coffee's good too. They get a LOT of my business.
Why can't there be more places like that?

You guys don't get free air over there?

We've got the stuff at every gas station you pull into

(Or maybe I've just been really, really lucky.....)

Lots of more modernized places have machines to put quarters into to get 30 seconds of air or something like that, they rarely work right and by then you've wasted a dollar of quarters. And dontcha know you can't find enough quarters when you need them.
hehehe this thread just went off topic lol

You can have as much air as you want down here, for free! We usually do up the car every few months.

Seriously though, super sweet guy.

The guy at my feed store is really old. I always feel bad, like I want to help HIM. last time we were there we parked next to a ports potty and he was in there puking his brains out. I had to wait for him to be done and since I didn't want him to know that I heard EVERYTHING I didn't ask if he was okay. Then I REALLY felt bad about him loading my feed ::

I would have been so sad about this too!!

I'll admit to enjoying the view when the really handsome young guy who works the loading dock at one of our feed stores loads a 50-lb sack of feed in the back of my car. I'm probably old enough to be his mother, which makes it so, so wrong. *needs a "cougar" smiley*

Now, if only I could get him to come to my house and unload the blasted things...

We seriously need to start a calendar. "The Men of Your Local Feed Supply...."

They'll all be shirtless, with our tickets in hand, carrying a bag of feed over one shoulder, glistening in the sun.... OH! Or sitting on bales of hay with cowboy hats. Or leaning on our tailgates.... the possibilities are endless.

I'd buy it! And when I have the money I tip the feed store people, but not always because I don't always have the money. They understand too.

ONLY two dollars? You do this every time you go??? I hope he carries it from a far far distance and without a dolly, good god. Don't get me wrong, I tip generously in restaurants or where I think is appropriate, but my feed guys wheel it only a few feet and toss it in my Jeep. Maybe I go more often than you do, but that adds up to a ton.
