Are you supposed to tip the person who loads your feed?

Sometimes I have a twelve pack box of sodas in back, and tell them help themselves if it is a hot day. they usualy do.

I'll admit to enjoying the view when the really handsome young guy who works the loading dock at one of our feed stores loads a 50-lb sack of feed in the back of my car. I'm probably old enough to be his mother, which makes it so, so wrong. *needs a "cougar" smiley*

Now, if only I could get him to come to my house and unload the blasted things...

Since you asked ...I'll relate my feed store experience today. The youngster that loads the feed is never the same one that was there the time before... I get the impression that loading feed at the feed store is to much work for young men these days besides the fact they don't know a fifty pound sack of feed from a hundred lb. The man that took my order for 300 lb of scratch had to tell the young fella 6 sacks. ok my bad didn,t check the back of my truck all of the feed that the lady that went with me feed was there half my order was there my 6 bags of scratch must have gotten loaded on someone else this same young man answered the phone when I called and told him I would drive the 25 miles back to get it. No apology a dull ok. Luckly the lady that went with me husband was in town and he picked it up for me. A tip I guess not ....it has never occured to me to tip the carryout boy at the grocerystore or the one that loads my feed. By the way I call these young fellers youngsters because I'm 65 and they are 20 something. Call me a red neck I don't know what would be polically correct in this situation.

We seriously need to start a calendar. "The Men of Your Local Feed Supply...."

They'll all be shirtless, with our tickets in hand, carrying a bag of feed over one shoulder, glistening in the sun.... OH! Or sitting on bales of hay with cowboy hats. Or leaning on our tailgates.... the possibilities are endless.

People who need tips are paid below minimum wage (wait staff, cab drivers, pizza drivers, etc). I'm pretty sure the feed store guys make at least minimum, probably more. I've never felt the urge to tip them. That would be like tipping the guy at Lowes if you had them load up pot soil or something. They're paid for that kind of work, unlike some service people, and they didn't have to buy any fuel to bring me my sack of feed either.

I tip mine sometimes but most times they refuse it. Also, I do tip my grocery bagger on holidays Same as the post man

The guy at my feed store is really old. I always feel bad, like I want to help HIM. last time we were there we parked next to a ports potty and he was in there puking his brains out. I had to wait for him to be done and since I didn't want him to know that I heard EVERYTHING I didn't ask if he was okay. Then I REALLY felt bad about him loading my feed ::
