Are you supposed to tip the person who loads your feed?

I do not tip them, but I go to the feed store every week or every other week, I bring them coffee and donuts or timbits, if its real hot I will bring them Ice Capps, as a treat. they do get paid good money, but they are also doing hard labour, in the heat, and in Winter extreme cold....

oooo do tell.
BTW, if we tip them because they are hot... does that mean we've crossed the line into a whole different sort of tipping business?

(I don't tip based on looks btw, only on service, but still I do enjoy the shirtless guys there in the summer)

I dont tip. As I never expect to get tipped, I work at lowes and though I am a cashier half the time I am out loading because the guys in there that are suppose to load always run off and hide.

But I wouldnt expect a tip from anyone, though people have offered because I am a girl and I supposivly shouldnt be loading dirt and mulch and all that.

Some guys have ven refused my service after they asked to have someone help them. I know they are just being kind and not wanting a girl to have to load their stuff whwn they are plenty capable. Lol! Anyway going off subject, no i do not tip. Like most have said they get paid good money to do what they are doing.

He looks like he could be a model. One summer he dyed his hair red. He looked like an overgrown leprechaun. I wonder if he lost a bet?

I tip them when i have a lot to be loaded by hand, most of the time my feed comes off the truck on a pallet and they use a forklift to load the whole thing so no tip on that day but i usually have a lot to hand load so they get 5 dollars for their sweat.

I do not tip at the feed store. Ours is a small family run thing, and we are on a first name basis. I do help them load me, and I am sure no one tips there.

I'll admit to enjoying the view when the really handsome young guy who works the loading dock at one of our feed stores loads a 50-lb sack of feed in the back of my car. I'm probably old enough to be his mother, which makes it so, so wrong. *needs a "cougar" smiley*

Now, if only I could get him to come to my house and unload the blasted things...

We seriously need to start a calendar. "The Men of Your Local Feed Supply...."

They'll all be shirtless, with our tickets in hand, carrying a bag of feed over one shoulder, glistening in the sun.... OH! Or sitting on bales of hay with cowboy hats. Or leaning on our tailgates.... the possibilities are endless.

If ya decide to do a calendar i have a real cute feed guy from TS ,i am sure he would not mind being in a calender

I am cheap....no tip from me

But then again, it is just a 25lb bag or two at the most and I park the truck almost at the front door.

Just an FYI, those guys in SoCal bagging your groceries, they are probably NOT making minimum wage. The markets pay minimum but your union dues come out of that, McDonalds pays better. And they are not supposed to accept tips.

I used to be a waitress, I usually notice bad service, but still tip okay. This weekend we took my youngest out to a Chinese food dinner to celebrate his HS graduation. They told us in advance that they were adding 18% to the bill, fine. I ordered a big bowl of my favorite soup I used to get from this restaurant eons ago Mom ordered a tofu dish. After about 30 minutes they brought my soup. No one else had anything. After about 5 minutes of them not bringing anything to anyone else and my soup getting cold, I used my plate to cover the bowl to keep it warm. Another 5 minutes go by and they bring 2 other people their food. A few minutes later 3 more plates come out, several minutes after that everyone but my mom gets her plate. We were the table closest to the kitchen, bar, ordering station AND cash register (ugh could not hear the person next to you) so no excuse that they forgot us in a back room. 15-20 minutes after my soup arrived and mom still has not gotten her Tofu. I go to the kitchen and round up a cup and a spoon for her to share some soup and remind them she is still waiting. The waitress comes out and tells another person that moms plate is more "time consuming to create" 5 minutes later, they bring out a plate of tofu cut in big chunks and covered in sauce with some mushrooms.....clearly just tossed together and totally gross to eat! They ended up comping hers, but boy do they not deserve that 18% tip they added! And they left the tip line open on the CC draft so we could tip again on the bill, tip and tax!
