Are your chickens smarter than you?

Chickens are smart enough to be chickens.

Except for Dingbat and Dipstick. They're still trying to figure this chickening thing out. :lau
I think chickens are pretty clever, not crow level but definitely smarter than I thought they were.

I say this and remember this evening my chicken, LuLu couldn’t get into her coop because the door was open and she was facing the wrong way lol.

If my Dingbat and Dipstick miss the gate by six inches, they can't find their way out of the pen. Or back in. I'm serious.
lol and I think my LuLu must be related to dingbat and dipstick. I’m standing there, like seriously girl?! Go around the door! She’ll stand at the hinged part trying to get in through the crack! I do love that silly chicken tho! How old are your sillies?

I think they are 2 yo. We hatched them. It was our first attempt. Out of 22 EE eggs, bred by our BOX rooster, we got 9 live chicks. Seven were cockerels and went fairly quickly into the freezer. D & D were the only pullets and it was obvious early on that they weren't great shakes in the brains dept.!

Oh see I thought you were going to 4/5 weeks and yours would have good reason to be “slow” And then feel bad because my nutcase is 21 weeks. But turns out we just have some goofy chickens! Help a newbie out, what’s a BOX rooster? I know ee is Easter egger right?
