Are your spouses in love as you are?

Yeah, my hubby loves the chickens as much as I do.

He made sure the girls have a chicken fortress to live in.

And buys all the feed. When he thinks I'm not looking he visits them.

My wife pretty much dislikes anything with feathers. When we married, I had to throw away my feather boa.

Out of love for me she tolerates all that I do and all of my animals/hobbies. Her hobby is theater, and I tolerate that. It's worked for us.

No my hubby thinks they poop too much and the other thing is he can't stand eggs!! He'll eat french toast though just dont put a fried, deviled, scrambled, egg salad near him, I'm sure he'd get sick! This hobby is all mine! I don't mind though I love it!!

Not at first when I mentioned about buying chickens, she wanted me to get only one chicken. Until I explained how chickens produce eggs and do better when there are more than one chicken. I had to warm her up to it, but she gave me the green light to buy 5 chickens. As soon as I brought them home, she instantly feel in love with them. She feeds/waters/cares for the chickens when I can't and sometimes volunteers to do it for me. now she considers them as pets and eggs, and not potential meat/food. she has threatened not to kill them. so i have mostly avoided that topic for now, i'll wait until the time comes.

my ONLY complaint, she sometimes does not do a thorough job. may not fill the waterer/feed full, completely clean poop inside coop, rake floor, clean eggs, things of that nature.

I am obsessed with chickens, and he is not. We have only have them for a few weeks now though, and just got our first eggs (we bought older pullets so we would get eggs faster). As much as he claims to think I am crazy he seemed to be enjoying himself watching the chickens out in the yard tonight and was making fun of their scratching motions (because they certainly entertaining).

No, hes not thrilled with as i am.. but thats cause he has to do all the work, cleaning coop, etc...
He keeps asking if we can get rid of them... and i just make plans for the next breed i want to try..

I have to say though, he does "like" them and get attached to certain ones. He has one girl that follows him around the yard like a dog..
And when he has to kill one of them for sickness reasons, it always really bothers him.

No my DH is not as in love as me. I just asked him. He said probably not. Means no. But when I asked him if he supports my love he said yes.

My dh is wonderful with helping me with them. He built my coop, does all the crazy moderations I request to it, helps me clean it when it needs it. He loves sitting and watching them almost as much as I do. He also loves spending time with the goats. He just told me last night that my chicken house needs a new wing.

The only thing he doesn't do with the animals is make decisions. When it comes to that, his standard answer is "they're your chickens/goats/dogs/cats........" It really doesn't get any better than that.

I have one of those hubbies that if he had a job counting gold bars and got to keep half he would complain about having to carry them....

that being said, when he came home to chickens in the living room 2 months ago, he SCREAMED..I'm not doing anything for them.
