Aren't chickens suppose to eat flies?

The food grade DE works well I think. I barely see any flies in the coop.

These work great. http://www.tractorsupply.com/trap-and-toss-fly-trap-2212108 Or Muscovy ducks!

Thanks so much for the help. I will give those a try. I read on a post that my mister might be the problem.

My chicks are one week old and they are absolute killers when it comes to mosquitoes. I haven't seen them go after a fly yet.

That's what I was going to recommend. It will take a couple weeks for you to really notice the difference, but you will. I use DE in my horse's stalls, in the coop, and the run. It drastically slows down the fly reproduction rate.

I've got to get something, too. We use a tractor in our backyard, and the flies are bad. We clean up the poop daily and don't leave stuff sitting around, but it doesn't seem to matter. The girls don't care about going after the flies, either. They loved gnats when they were chicks, and they ate a snail yesterday like there was no tomorrow...but no flies.

Last year we tried one of those bag fly traps with "putrescent egg white and yeast" as the attractant. I kept smelling decomposition, and sure enough, it was the trap. Eww! I'm going to have to look for that disposable trap that you posted.
