Seriously there is a lot more to astrology than a newspaper horoscope or predicting lucky days or numbers. A true student of the art (laugh if you will but 90% is interpretation) can provide in depth insight into ones self and those around you. I'm not just talking about reading a book on how to cast a chart. There are hundreds of instructional books out there few of them delve into the true meanings of what you are looking at in a chart.
Astrology as a passing fancy... any book might do. Astrology as a way to discover ones self and direction in life? I would recomend getting a solid basic knowledge of the mechanics (charting, signs houses etc.) and then read everything you can by the author Jan Spiller. She will take you further into the emotional and spiritual aspects of the planets and especially the moon and it's aspects.
Becoming fluent in the language of astrology is no easy task but the rewards can be huge. Think of it as a key, but be certain that you really want to know what is behind the door.
You just want to know what lottery numbers to play? Read the newspaper and call it good. Good luck.
Oh yes, I find it quite interesting. I'm a cancer and a seven by numerology, and both fit me quite well. So basically I'm an overemotional, snappy, quiet person. Woohoo.
I was reading my astrology book for my sign-
"Cancerians tend to come off as cranky, cold-hearted, bitter, and crab-like in their attitude and nature.
But really they're just bum-loads of sunshine when you get to know them."
