I was admiring how quickly my vine is coming back to life and noticed that it already has over 20 teeny tiny little bunches on it!

I keep my mealworms in a plastic Rubbermaid like:

I tried the Goodwill for a couple weeks waiting on an aquarium but didn't see any. I had this in my garage already.

Bob's Henhouse :

The odds are looking good for us getting the 5 acres with the mobile. Financing is pre-approved. DSO is sending in the paperwork tomorrow.

I hope you get it. Property is so nice. We have 2 acres, and bult our house. It was a lot of work but worth it. It took 2 years in planing and 2 years to build.

Constance, I wish I had enough mealworms, I'd give them to you. My colony suffered in the garage all winter (I wanted it in the house but lost that argument

). I'm getting ready to grow large quantities of them, using a tubs like Cluckin showed (but larger). I'm in the process of tracking down very inexpensive wheat bran (~$0.25/lb) in a large quantity. I'll let you know about that when I get it. I'm thinking about ordering a couple thousand worms from Fluker Farms to get everything in place before the heat comes--when growth is at it's best. I want to experiment with preserving them for later in the winter.

Cluckin - I thought about using something like that, too. I have 2 worm colonies in bins like that (which were laying around unused), and it works pretty well. I am envious of your grapes! I can't remember, how old are they, and are they in the ground or in pots? What kind do you have?

Enjoy your mulberry! As a kid, I used to sneak across a golf course in New Mexico to get to a strange single tree that grew at the edge of the edge of the back end of the course by an arroyo. It must have been a volunteer, but it had great fruit. I ate myself sick every summer, and it was quite a walk to get there. Ooooh, and dried mulberries are fantastic! Now I want one of those, too

I just checked Fluker Farms. I can get 5,000 worms for $27.50 + $15.33 shipping for a total of $42.83. That would work out to be $8.57/1000 worms, a pretty good deal.
