Driving makes me sleepier than normal.

Quick insight into laree's chicken obsession: I spent and hour at my dad's helping his landscaper dig out the dandelions, so I could take them home to the chickens.

Gardener also gave me a medium sized-bag of clean grass clippings.

Yup. I am officially crazy.

Question for you all...

We live in N. Phoenix, just off the 51. (Hey, Laree..I think you go to *our* Home Depot!)

DF (soon to be DH) and I are looking for folks who can potentially help us with our Ladies when we travel....they have large capacity feeders and auto-refill waterers. We have 20 (2 standard size and 18 Bantams). No roos. They are very friendly and will probably be attention and treat-starved after about 1 day (who's kidding...probably after 20 minutes)...spoiled?? No....not at all....our Ladies aren't SPOILED!

We're mainly looking for folks to collect & enjoy their eggs, make sure they're ok, give them some treats or so. Also refill wild bird feeders and the koi feeder as needed, pick up random stupid flyers as they appear....

Has anyone used a local pet sitting service for their chooks that they would recommend? I have started contacting some of them I found on the internet, but was just curious if any of you had done this too. They mostly seem to charge about $20 per visit.

I got busy and did not check in for the reply on the Delaware roo I need to find. Could not get my computer to hold it together through 20 pages....anyway does any one have a Delaware roo or know where I can get one?....prefer an adult

I like the smell too...from a distance. Luckily, I've never been close enough to know how I would like full strength skunk.

pdx2phx: I have the same problem. ( Finding someone who knows chickens well enough to check in on them when we are gone. )

That's not a bad idea....when we head that way or have a friend going that way I will connect to you again.other wise will keep looking.
