Arizona Chickens

I called my 4 yr old niece (remember my sister who lost chickens to a coyote) and told her that our chicken laid a purple egg.
She (sharp little kid that she is) replied "ours laid a rainbow one!"

I have a small flock of Olive Eggers (EE x Cuckoo Marans) that need a home. 2 pullets and a roo. Not laying yet, but should be soon. The roo is optional, if you want him he is all yours. I think these pullets hatched in November/December. I also have 5 Phoenix Hens (laying) and an optional roo (FYI-The roo is a butt head) available.

I have some, but they are the threaded ones. I've heard the push in ones are better. I have the orange plastic ones and the all steel ones. Don't remember what I paid for them, so whatever is fair, but I'm on the far west side.

The metal ones work great in pvc pipe because the top of the pipe keeps the weights in. They don't work as well in the bottom of a bucket, though. The weights pop out and then it leaks.
Do the plastic ones pop out too?

So which worked well for you?
